Notice what God says about a love relationship:

Who can separate us from the love of Christ?  Can affliction or anguish or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sward? . . . No, in all these things we are more than victorious through Him who loved us . . .  [Nothing] will have the power to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.  Romans 8:35, 37, 39

Experiencing God’s Love through Discipline, Judgement and Wrath

Posted by blogadmin on August 7, 2010 under Uncategorized | 3 Comments to Read

In the Old Testament God warned the Israelites that if they were disobedient they would be taken away captive, plunder their goods and kill them by the sword.    Many would saythat a loving God would not allow such things to happen, but God does bring discipline, judgement and wrath on those who continue to live in sin and rebellion against Him.  Even this discipline is based on love, ” For God disciplines the one He loves, and punishes every son whom He receives”  (Heb 12:6).

Your confidence in the love nature of God is crucial.  How does confidence in God’s love affect your perspective on your current circumstances?

Experiencing God: What can I use to determine my love for God? (Part2)

Experiencing God: What can I use to determine my love for God?

The beginning of the Children of Israel’s going astray was when the stopped hearing .

In continuance of Sunday morning’s sermon Pastor Beckles revealed how many of us think concerning the word of God. He said, “We make the Word of God subject to our opinion” But we should listen to the Word of God , then we should HEAR it with our full attention or interest. Most important to me was when he said we Must hear with the intent to embrace it.  I must confess, I have been guilty of listening to the Word of God preached or reading it and then sifting through it to select what I will obey and what is ‘just not for me’.  Anyone else on the bench with me?

He noted that parents today are raising their children with this same mindset of selective obedience.

Loving God means wholehearted, unquestioning obedience to His Voice.

And if God is the All Knowing, All Powerful, Omni-Present, Alpha and Omega the how and why can we in our right mind dare question the instructions He has given frail, short-sighted, imperfect us.
